A growing need.

Amidst the growing need for assistance in our community, the 1st Phoenix Community Center's food pantry has been witnessing a steady increase in patrons served, as illustrated in this quarterly graph. The pressing issue of food insecurity continues to escalate, fueled by various factors such as inflation and the soaring cost of living. Families are grappling with the burden of affording nutritious meals, with each passing quarter revealing a surge in individuals seeking support.

Community Members Served

Weekly average food pantry recipients.

This graph serves as a reminder of the escalating challenges faced by our neighbors, underscoring the urgency of our mission. As prices soar, access to nutritious food becomes increasingly challenging, resulting in increased demand for our services. Meanwhile, these increases in food costs have also driven up our costs upward. Please consider contributing to the First Phoenix Community Center:

  • Monetary Donations - The community center relies on grants and donations to offer our services. As economic challenges have increased, so has the need for grants from a limited pool of foundations and other charitable organizations. Individual donations allow us to continue to open our doors to a growing number of our neighbors.

  • Volunteering - Contribute your time to help serve the community by joining our board, help with our pantry, clothing closet, or another form of volunteering.

  • Business Partnerships - Contribute products, services, or financially through a business partnership with the community center. Contact us today and we will discuss how we can partner to serve this community.

  • Join the Food Project - Contribute food by slowly filling a supplied donation bag and leaving it on your porch on the second Saturday of even months, or serve as a neighborhood coordinator collecting those donations and delivering to the community center.
